Is music good for your child?

We all know, instinctively, that music is good for us. Can learning music really have a positive impact on our children’s futures?

Despite the continuing cuts in funding, those responsible for education systems across the world still tend to prioritise music above other arts. References are often made to music’s ‘instrumental’ benefits – improving academic achievement, personal development, and life skills. What about the research which backs this up?
